‘MasterMind’ Meetup Group

As I have mentioned here and there, I am a member of several Meetup groups and I get emails from time to time about new groups that might meet my interests.  The other day, I received one that roused my curiosity:

Petaluma, CA

*ARE YOU SEEKING A SUPPORT GROUP FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE READY FOR BIG CHANGE & GROWTH IN THEIR LIVES?

This is a Mastermind group for Highly Creative folks that want to engage with those of like minds to create expansion & success in one or more areas of their lives. It could be about financial success, creating relationships, stepping into a purposeful life path, moving into a healthier life, becoming more creative, pursuing any goals & dreams you may have! Whatever your dreams are, whatever you feel profoundly drawn to create this group is about achieving these dreams and goals.

INTRODUCTION TO CREATIVE MASTERMIND GROUP

DATE & TIME:    Saturday, Jan. 31st, 3-5:15 pm

GETTING TO KNOW YOU…

GETTING TO KNOW ALL ABOUT YOU!! (from “King & I”)

INTRO gathering of Mastermind group for Highly Creative People

This first meet up is to:

* Get to know who you are & connect with other Creative folks

* Share our creative dreams & goals

* Meet our creative parts that live within us & see what wants to express more fully

* Take a look at those parts of us that sabotage & hold us back from full expression

* Examine what calls to us to contribute to the world, our gifts fully given

* HAVE FUN, CONNECT & EXPRESS OUR HEARTS DESIRES!

Something about this intrigued me – especially when I looked into it further and found this:   Common Characteristics Of Giftedness – Self-Test-Something fun to explore!!!  I found this to be very compelling – are there really other people remotely like me out there?  I decided to go and find out!

SO – I went.  And I am very glad I did.

At the beginning of the meeting, we each introduced ourselves and shared something.  I had decided – just on a whim – to bring the binder in which I keep all of my 31-point-plans.  As I shared these and talked about how it all works in my life, I received a lot of very positive feedback.

Then there was, among other things, a discussion concerning archetypes – and specifically, the Creator archetype (defined, along with the other common archetypes here:  http://www.soulcraft.co/essays/the_12_common_archetypes.html).  In addition, we talked about the MUSE, and how each of us individually might perceive that – as a “person,” a concept or whatever.  Some people perceive it as a voice, some as a thought or inspiration that comes unbidden.  We were asked to do a sort of meditation and listen to what our Muse “says” to us.  For me, it is simply a frame of mind that I engage in, and the thoughts that came to me were about having faith and they were about joywhat came to my mind was the Hallelujah Chorus playing in my head! (I seem to get music in my head a lot of the time and always as clear as if I was listening to it on a recording, or live.)  So this was rather a remarkable experience!

All in all, I enjoyed the whole thing.  And it turns out that the Organizer, Stephanie, is going to be beginning a 6-week workshop starting in March and it sounds wonderful.  I am definitely planning on attending.  And I can certainly use some “Creative MasterMind Support”!

Incidentally, I looked up the word “mastermind” when I got home to see what specifically that word signifies.  I learned that it is one of the Keirsey-Bates personality types based on Jung’s theories.  I then remembered the book I have and have owned for many years, Please Understand Me, which describes all of this.

I had taken the test contained in the book to see what “type” I was and so I decided to take it again.  And what I discovered is that I am a combination ENTJ/INTJ – as I am equally an extrovert and an introvert, depending on the day basically – which makes me a combination “Fieldmarshal / Mastermind, which are both “Rationals.”  Weird.  And here I’d think I was more an “Artisan” or perhaps an “Idealist.”  But I got the same end results every time I’ve taken the test.  Interesting.  Not really relevant to anything…. but, interesting.

Does this mean I don’t need Mastermind support if I am a Mastermind?  Or does this mean the support is for those of us who are Masterminds?  [And obviously I am being rather silly at this point.  But being silly is one of my strong points, after all!]

Onward and upward….
